This fully illustrated sequel to "Period Details" reflects a revival of interest in period design and furnishing. It provides a chronological guide to the style of each period and presents ways of recreating styles of the past, from Elizabethan, Edwardian, Victorian and neo-Gothic to Art Deco. There is advice on how to choose colours, bleach floorboards, create period-style bookshelves, stencil walls, choose and position furniture and make cushions from recycled Persian carpets. The book concludes with a 24-page directory listing suppliers, museums and courses on period architecture and interiors.

Anyone wanting to learn about the history of interior styles cannot go wrong with this book. It goes through all the historical periods from Medieval to Art Deco. I have been an Interior Designer for 30 years and have done some period interiors and this book has been invaluable.
